2014 Election Dates for VoteRiders Target Voter ID States

Voting by Absentee Ballot is an option for people who might have trouble getting to the polls or standing in long lines on Election Day. In some states the Voter ID requirements are less stringent for Absentee Voting than voting in person. Alabama

Voter registration deadline for General election: October 20, 2014
Absentee ballot application must be received by: October 30, 2014
Absentee ballot must be postmarked by November 3, 2014 and received no later than noon November 4, 2014
General election: November 4, 2014
Provisional Ballot Cure Period: 5:00pm on the Friday after the election

 

Arizona

Voter registration deadline for General election: October 6, 2014
Absentee ballot application deadline: 5:00pm on October 25, 2014
Early Voting for General election: October 9, 2014 - October 31, 2014
General election: November 4, 2014
Absentee ballot must be received by: 7:00pm on November 4, 2014
Provisional Ballot Cure Period: if the voter provides no form of acceptable ID at the polling place: 5pm on the 5th business day after Election Day; if the voter provided insufficient ID, the Recorder’s Office will compare the signature on the provisional ballot form with the signature and other information on your voter registration form.

 

Arkansas

Voter registration deadline for General election: October 6, 2014
Early voting for General election: October 20, 2014 - November 3, 2014

Provisional Ballot Cure Period: A voter without a valid photo ID who signs a “qualified voter affidavit” may cast a regular ballot.

 

North Carolina

Absentee in-person ballots must be received by: 5:00pm on November 3, 2014

Provisional Ballot Cure Period: Until the photo ID law is in effect in 2016, a voter must sign the poll book for identification purposes; however, the poll worker will ask if you have an acceptable form of ID that will be required in 2016.
