Alexandra Barraza is pursuing a bachelors degree in Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. She became interested in politics as a high school student in San Diego when she volunteered for a mayoral candidate. Since then Alexandra has worked on campaigns at UCLA, including for the Financial Supports Commissioner’s office, working to reduce textbook prices and facilitate better access to financial aid for all students. She is part of a student task force aiming to register Bruins to vote. Alexandra also worked for the UCLA Fund to raise money towards underfunded programs on campus. Previously, she interned with the non-profit 826LA, providing underserved public schools with tutoring and writing support.
