Alabama Secretary of state focuses on voting laws

By visiting each county throughout the state and working with probate judges to attend local events, [Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill's] office intends to make voter registration easily accessible.

Merrill said the state also has a mobile unit that will go anywhere in the state to help people register if they are unable to get a photo ID for themselves. ...

“If you identify one person in the state that wants an ID and can’t get one, I’ll call and get our team to send members to go to that person’s home and give them an ID for free that day,” he said.
