Protect California from Voter Suppression

In early 2025, the current president threatened to withhold federal aid to California for wildfire recovery efforts if the state did not enact a voter ID requirement.

Since then, a ballot proposition campaign for 2026 has been launched. If passed, it would:

1. Impose an ID requirement that would apply every time a voter casts a ballot in person or by mail
2. Require burdensome, expensive, and unreliable federal database checks to confirm U.S. citizenship of eligible voters
