Ohio State Coordinator

Vashitta Johnson is VoteRiders’ Ohio State Coordinator. She has over twenty years of experience working on political and issue-based advocacy campaigns in Ohio. Before joining VoteRiders, Vashitta was the Interim Executive Director for WeRISE for Greater Westerville. During the 2020 election, she was the Voter Protection Coordinator for Fair Fight and the Ohio Democratic Party. She previously was the Field & Political Director for NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, a legislative aide in the Ohio Senate, and the Racial and Social Justice Director for Equality Ohio. She has community volunteer experience as the President for the Westerville Library Foundation Board and at the Children’s Services Crisis Center. Vashitta holds an MBA in International Business from American Intercontinental University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Kent State University. She has two children and enjoys spending time with family, doing CrossFit and yoga, and rooting for her favorite Ohio teams.
