Who is eligible for Absentee Voting?
Any registered Georgia voter can vote absentee.
Do you need to submit ID with your absentee ballot request?
First-time Georgia voters who did not meet the federal ID requirements when registering to vote must include one of the following:
- A copy of a current and valid photo ID (Georgia driver's license, state ID card, US passport, student ID, employee ID, military ID)
- A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows voter’s name and Georgia address
Mail or drop off application at County Registrar’s office.
Ballot accepted if signature on ballot matches signature on voter registration record.
Do you need to submit ID with your ballot?
No, but the signature on the vote-by-mail ballot must match the voter registration signature.
If you registered to vote by mail and are voting by absentee ballot in your first federal election, you must enclose a copy of your photo ID or document bearing your name and residence address in the envelope with your voted ballot.
