COVID-19 Advisory: All voters are encouraged to vote using an absentee ballot in the upcoming July 14 primary. Pursuant to the Governor's executive order, the date to submit absentee ballot application requests has been extended through July 14, 2020, the date of the primary, but the ballot must also be received by the voter's town clerk later than 8:00 pm on July 14.
Who is eligible to request an absentee ballot and vote by mail?
Any registered Maine voter may request an absentee ballot. No excuse is required.
Do you need to submit ID with your absentee ballot request?
No. Unless you are a first-time voter – see Voter Registration section above.
Do you need to submit ID with your ballot?
No, but the signature on your mail ballot must match your voter registration signature.
