Michigan is a non-strict voter ID state.

If you do not show an acceptable photo ID at your polling place, you can still vote a regular ballot if you sign a simple form.

Can you use a student ID to vote in Michigan?

Yes! Michigan accepts student IDs from accredited high schools and post-high school institutions.

Your student ID must have your photo and be unexpired.

Can you vote without an ID in Michigan?

If you are a registered Michigan voter and do not bring (or do not have!) an acceptable photo ID, you can still vote a regular ballot by signing a simple form.

You do not need a copy of your ID to vote by mail in Michigan.
