Can you use a student ID to vote in Rhode Island?

Yes! Rhode Island accepts student IDs from educational institutions located in the United States.

Your student ID needs your photo cannot be expired more than 6 months prior to voting.

Can you vote without an ID in Rhode Island?

If you are a registered Rhode Island voter and do not bring an acceptable ID to your polling place, you may cast a provisional ballot.

For your provisional ballot to count, you must provide an acceptable ID to the Board of Canvassers before the close of business on the day after the election.

If you do not provide an acceptable ID, the Board will compare the signature on your ballot to your voter registration record to determine if your ballot counts.
