12 Years Strong: VoteRiders Celebrates Another Impactful National Voter ID Month of Action

VoteRiders marked its 12th anniversary with a robust National Voter ID Month of Action across the country. The initiative saw remarkable success thanks to the collective efforts of partners, volunteers, supporters, and voters.

Highlights included: targeted outreach efforts such as letter-writing campaigns, one-on-one assistance training for volunteers, and fundraising achievements through collaborative partnerships. VoteRiders staff educated partners on state-specific voter ID laws while digital partnerships and in-person events further amplified the importance of securing acceptable ID ahead of critical elections. Noteworthy moments included collaborating with organizations like the Harriet Tubman Freedom Fighters in Florida and participating in Second Chance Month events in Georgia.

VoteRiders celebrated our 12th anniversary with a jam-packed National Voter ID Month of Action!

States across the nation continue to pass more restrictive and confusing rules about what ID is needed to vote. It can take weeks or even months to secure an ID, so April is a critical time for folks to make sure they have everything they need to vote in the remaining primaries and in the upcoming November general election.

Thanks to our incredible community of partners, volunteers, supporters, and voters, our National Voter ID Month of Action was a tremendous success.

Some of our proudest moments include:

Over 200 VoteRiders volunteers, including many from our partners at the Arizona Students Association, wrote almost 9,000 letters to voters in Arizona and Georgia containing critical information about upcoming elections and state-specific voter ID rules.

We trained new volunteers on how to provide one-on-one voter ID assistance to voters in need.

Our field staff in eight states hosted a series of Voter ID Informational Briefings throughout the month, engaging upwards of 200 partner organizations and the media on state-specific voter ID laws and VoteRiders’ free voter ID information and services.

We got the word out about voter ID and highlighted our free services through various digital partnerships including with When We All Vote, i am a voter, the League of Women Voters, and Lamb Chop

We organized in-person events in communities across the country to offer free ID information and help to any voter in need. And we got a special birthday gift from our friends at Pizza to the Polls, who sent pizzas to several of our community events to share with attendees!
