Can you use a student ID to vote in South Dakota?

Yes! South Dakota accepts student IDs from high schools and accredited post-high school institutions in the state.

Your student ID must have your photo and be unexpired.

Can you vote without an ID in South Dakota?

If you cannot present an acceptable ID at your polling place, you may still be able to vote in South Dakota by signing a Personal Identification Affidavit.

You will need to write your name, address, and signature on your Personal Identification Affidavit form. Your signature on the form must match the signature on file with the state for your ballot to count.
