Now retired, Steven Gadol worked for over thirty years in the computer industry in Silicon Valley. He contributed to IT innovations and product development at Sun Microsystems. In 1994, Steven received a Scott McNealy President’s award for his leadership on the development of a dedicated Internet server product (Netra) and the development of software to seamlessly integrate networks of PC desktops with the company’s server products. Later he became Director of Software Technology in the division of Sun Microsystems responsible for workgroup and Internet server products. Studying the evolution of Western governmental systems gave Steven a clear understanding of the importance of citizen voter participation in retaining a democracy. A founding member of Indivisible Portola Valley, he strongly supported the chapter’s generous support of VoteRiders. Steven holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
